Aims of Program:
The aim of the Junior Academy program is to create an environment that allows players to have fun whilst learning the fundamentals of soccer. Our focus is on individual technical development in a fun and safe environment.
What is the Junior Surfer Academy?
Jr. Surfer Academy is an exciting program based on what’s best for the players in this age range. The player’s individual skill development and enjoyment is at the heart of the program.
All players get professional training from nationally-licensed soccer coaches, Coach Don Bastian (current Westlake High School boys soccer Head Coach) and his assistants. Trainings will be throughout the year in 3 separate blocks: Summer, Fall and Spring. These trainings will serve as a supplemental program to city recreation soccer. After much evaluation and feedback, our Jr. Surfer program’s value lies primarily in the Jr. Surfer trainings. In order to provide the most value and the best soccer experience possible for the future of soccer, we do not offer games as a part of our Jr. Surfer Academy program. The Jr. Surfer Academy will give your athlete a jump start on proper technique that they will then be able to showcase and refine in their city recreation games.
Why Join Junior Surfers?
Jr. Surfer trainings will give your child a technical foundation for their soccer future in a low-pressure and fun environment with small-sided scrimmage experience (per USSF small-sided rules and regulations) that will maximize touches on the ball.
