Utah Surf joins the Development Player League (DPL)
Within the new landscape of girls youth soccer, the Girls Academy/DPL platform is what has risen from the ashes of US Soccer’s Development Academy. Utah Surf has always strived to put our players in environments that will maximize our players’ growth opportunities. The DPL will provide Utah Surf players with an opportunity to play against some of the best competition in the Mountain West Region, as well as providing National exposure opportunities.
DPL’s vision is that through superior experiences, players will be able to showcase their talent, discover collegiate opportunities and create community around the game. They are a standards driven national league connected to the Girls Academy that will encourage clubs to compete and grow, maximizing the development of their players. By creating a cohesive framework in line with the most dynamic organizations in the country, where nothing is given and everything earned, they will raise the bar in youth soccer… together. Utah Surf Soccer Club is proud to offer this experience to our girls.
Utah Surf Executive Director, Blaine Hale said, “We are excited to provide additional experience and opportunities for our female athletes who have put in the time and made the sacrifices to compete at an elite level.”
Utah Surf will join the Mountain West Conference that will include member clubs of FC Tucson Youth Soccer, and more announcements to come!
ABOUT DPL
The Development Player League (DPL) is designed to expand the Girls Development Academy (DA) player pool for participating clubs. The league creates a highly professional training environment and competitive model for aspiring DA players, bridging the gap between club soccer and Development Academy soccer.
